Today I will discuss being selfish and how it can help you. I realise that the word selfish can bring up some stuff for some people. It is a word that has a lot of bad press and you may even think that being selfish is not a good thing. In this post I aim to redefine what selfish is.

 

 

If you are looking to improve your wellbeing then becoming utterly selfish when it comes to your needs is essential. Nothing will adversely affect your health and wellbeing more than putting other people’s needs ahead of your own on a consistent basis. You will burnout and have nothing left to offer.

 

My grandad used to say to me “I’ll do what I want. At least that guarantees that at least one person is happy!”

 

This has proved to be good advice over the years. Since you cannot give from an empty vessel it is important to keep your energy high and look after yourself a bit. If your life-work balance is out of sync then it can be devastating for your relationships. The Active Energy System is a great way to restore balance in your life.
